A Spectacular First Day: AVANCE-Dallas and AVANCE-Houston Families Embrace Learning and New Beginnings

AVANCE-Dallas and AVANCE-Houston recently kicked off the new school year with a heartwarming and successful first day of programs. Parents were warmly welcomed and introduced to the program, meeting the teachers who will be guiding their children throughout the year. Meanwhile, the children engaged in fun, interactive activities that helped them settle into their new classroom environment, connect with their classmates, and bond with their teacher.

“What made this first day truly remarkable was how smoothly the children adapted,” said AVANCE-Dallas ECE Coordinator, Noemi Patiño. Instead of the usual first-day nerves, the children eagerly participated in the routine, followed their teacher’s instructions, and even handled group tasks like bathroom breaks with ease. Both parents and children were excited and ready to dive into a year filled with growth and learning.

The anticipation and excitement were just as high in Houston, as the new program year brought with it the buzz and energy of returning to the classroom. From the nervous jitters of new students to the bittersweet goodbyes of parents, the tears shed reflected all the emotions that come with this special day.

On the first day of school, AVANCE-Houston’s Senior Director II, Kristie Mireles, and Executive Director, Luz Flores, warmly welcomed everyone to the centers. Children and families connected with teachers and staff, beginning an important partnership for the year ahead. This first day set the tone for what promises to be an incredible year for AVANCE-Dallas and AVANCE-Houston families, with both parents and children equally prepared to embrace new experiences.
